ABOUT

Join Jacksonville in Supporting Our Sea Services
Educate. Advocate. Support.

The Jacksonville Council Navy League of the United States provides a way for civilians to directly engage with and support the sea services. Through advocacy, outreach, and community partnerships, we help strengthen the connection between Jacksonville residents, local businesses, and the men and women who serve.

Today, we remain committed to three core missions:

Educate the public and elected officials on the importance of strong sea services.

Advocate for policies that ensure continued support and recognition of the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine.

Support active-duty service members, their families, and future generations through youth programs.

Established in 1954, the Jacksonville Council was the first Navy League council in Florida and continues to be a dedicated voice for our sea services.

Our Impact
Our Youth -
Investing in the Next Generation

We support programs like the Naval Sea Cadets and Junior ROTC, giving young people the chance to:

  • Build leadership, confidence, and character through structured training.

  • Develop discipline, community values, and academic excellence.

  • Access scholarships, career mentorship, and advanced military placement.

Many cadets go on to higher education, military service, or leadership roles in the workforce. By investing in Jacksonville’s youth, we help develop future leaders for both the sea services and our community.

Driving Economic Impact

Jacksonville’s military and maritime industries contribute billions to our local economy, supporting jobs, businesses, and infrastructure. The Jacksonville Navy League Council helps protect these resources by advocating for continued investment in our naval bases, ports, and workforce.

Strong sea services mean a stronger economy and more opportunities for our community.

About The Navy League of the United States

The Navy League of the United States, founded in 1902 with the support of President Theodore Roosevelt, is a nonprofit civilian, educational and advocacy organization that supports America’s sea services: the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine.

For over a century, the Navy League has been a voice for maritime strength, engaging the public and Congress on the vital role these services play in national security, economic prosperity, and global stability. Through membership, we unit those who are committed to supporting the sea services, advocating for a strong maritime defense, and building a community that stands behind those who serve at sea.
